School uniforms are also known as dress codes, and help keep what students wear to school, appropriate. School uniforms have been around for quite some time, and

can be found in many places. They are most popular in primary and secondary schools in many nations. School uniforms should not be enforced because they eliminate

freedom of expression, conflict with articles of clothing worn in a religion, and do not reduce bullying in schools. Also, because school uniforms restrict creativity and

foster resentment in students ("Rights of Students").

Students should be allowed to express themselves in more ways than one, and one crucial way is clothing. Schools should not have uniforms because uniform and dress

code policies, despite what some say, do not create greater security in schools ("Rights of Students"). Many will use this false piece of information as a main reason to

enforce school uniforms, even though this statement is false. One example of extreme uniforms enforcement came up in Hyrum, Utah, where the school had volunteered

the idea of banning jeans in school. Students were very upset, and because of this, parents of these students voted no on this rash uniform idea, allowing students to

breath a sigh of relief ("Ban Jeans in Schools?"). Another reason for not allowing uniforms is because mandatory and restrictive uniform policies violate students’ First

Amendment rights. ("Rights of Students").
